The North Face Company was founded in 1966 by 2 hiking enthusiasts in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. The initial focus was to provide high performance climbing and backpacking equipment. In 1968, The North Face moved across the bay to Berkeley, California, where they set out to design and manufacture their own brand of quality, high tech mountaineering apparel and equipment.
As The North Face company grew and expanded into snowboarding and skiing, their mantra remained simple, "Never Stop Exploring". By pushing the boundaries of innovation, The North Face Company has now become the first choice among world class outdoor athletes and enthusiasts.
